In Mali, the demand for indoor sports flooring is rising as the government and private sectors invest in multi-purpose halls to protect athletes from the intense Sahelian sun. However, traditional concrete or basic tiled surfaces often lead to high injury rates due to lack of shock absorption.
The local environment poses significant challenges; extreme heat and fine Saharan dust can penetrate porous materials, causing rapid degradation of standard surfaces. This has created a critical need for high-density artificial flooring that is both impermeable and easy to maintain.
Currently, the market is transitioning from basic cement-based floors to specialized synthetic polymers. The integration of carpet and vinyl flooring is becoming the standard for premium gymnasiums in Bamako and Kayes, focusing on hygiene and athlete safety.
